Psycho-Education Program

From time to time, the HUM psychologist may identify clients, who have attended or who are attending the Psychologist Clinic, who have similar problems or difficulties. Sometimes the improvement of these problems can be substantially enhanced by clients attending a Psycho-Education Program where they can learn new information/strategies to assist in dealing with these problems.

For example, if clients are parents where problems include managing difficult child behaviour, and they are agreeable to attending parenting education classes, then the HUM psychologist may conduct a parenting psycho-education program. This Psycho-Education Program would focus on providing parenting education to improve child behaviour management strategies and communication at home among family members.

Psycho-Education Programs may also be adapted and run for children and young people if such a demand arises.

Please be aware that in conducting Psycho-Education Programs, HUM Psychology will endeavour to make a public announcement about the intention to conduct the Program in advance of its commencement and the nature of the topic to be addressed within the Program. HUM will subsequently generate a group participant list to secure participant numbers before finalising the program schedule.
