How long would I need to see a psychologist for?
Counselling sessions are usually 50 to 60 minutes long.
Most people can expect between two to six sessions for treatment of their problem, the first session being an initial assessment of the problem situation.
Some disorders that are more severe and disabling can take longer to manage effectively and once your problems and circumstances are assessed, the psychologist will talk to you further about how long your treatment will take.
The length of treatment can be negotiated depending on your needs and the treatment goals you set in agreement with the psychologist.
