Am I eligible for a service rebate through private health insurance? Psychological therapy is covered by most Private Health cover plans (contact your insurer for details). Clients with private cover are entitled to a rebate of between 20% and 80% of the fee depending on the level of cover. People will need to be covered by ancillary benefits insurance (extras table) and the psychologist must be registered with the health insurance fund as an approved provider of psychological services. Some insurance funds will also require a medical referral to the psychologist. Presentation of your invoice for psychological services to your health fund will enable you to claim a rebate on the services provided.
